Instructions for Downloading and Installing Mathematica

All students and faculty at the University of Delaware are allowed to install and use Mathematica on their home computers. The process outlined below worked as of September 10, 2013.

1. Create a Wolfram ID
   IMPORTANT: You MUST use your official University of Delaware email address here. You will not be able to activate Mathematica with another email address.
   
   • Direct your browser to www.wolfram.com
   • Under the "Support" tab, select "Wolfram User Portal."
     
   • Click the "Create Account" link.
     
   • Follow the instructions to create a Wolfram ID.
     
2. Go to the UDeploy website, http://udeploy.udel.edu, and select your operating system.
   
3. Select "Scientific and Research Software"
   
4. Click the link for "Mathematica."
   
5. Click the link for "Mathematica 9 for Students."
   
6. Click on your operating system to download the correct executable file for Mathematica 9. While that downloads, click the link for the Mathematica Activation Portal.
   
7. Sign into the Wolfram User Portal with your new Wolfram ID.
   
8. Fill out the activation code request form.
   
9. Install Mathematica 9 like you would install any software on your computer. When you're asked for an Activation Code, use the one given to you in step 8. It should have also been emailed to you.
